The Road to 2012 — I’m back with a new perspective

I’ve been silent since the beginning of the year. I hadn’t planned for it to be this way. But my mom’s unexpected cancer diagnosis forced me to change my plans and goals without hesitation.

I had my 2012 New Year’s Resolutions totally mapped out with 3 main goals, selfishly all about ME: focus on this blog, focus on my Chicago law firm, and focus on my work as a contributor for FOX News Channel. For the past few years, I was looking forward to traveling the 2012 road to the White House– what a great opportunity for a Democrat who voted for Obama to speak-out about the base’s disappointment in our President yet voice our fear to elect someone from the right.

The Blago Bet

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich returns to federal court tomorrow for the beginning of D-Day.

Finally, after Blago’s arrest in November of 2008 and two trials later, Blago will be sentenced by Judge Zagel on Wednesday, December 7th. The sentencing hearing will begin on the 6th but Zagel’s official order will not be determined until the 7th, even if the hearing ends on the 6th.

Expect the sentencing hearing to be a no-holds-barred event; witnesses from either side will talk about Blago’s criminal behaviors or how he was their savior when he served as Governor. Judge Zagel will have no shortage of information to help him determine the sentence:

News Hounds: Tamara Holder Smacks Down Hannity On Fast And Furious Witch Hunt

Article link: here

Nov 25, 2011: Sean Hannity usually chooses sycophants for the discussions that appear on his show as debates (though not always). But he clearly got more than he bargained for on the November 19, 2011 show when he hosted attorney and Fox News contributor Tamara Holder to discuss the Eric Holder witch hunt Fast and Furious controversy and Republicans’ demand for the Attorney General’s resignation..

The other guest was Kimberley Guilfoyle – who seems never to have met a Fox News meme she wasn’t ready to wholeheartedly adopt. So it was no surprise that she not only agreed with Hannity that Attorney General Holder should resign but went the extra mile to sneer at him for not resigning.

Where Is Florida Mother Who Disappeared After Case Aired on ‘The People’s Court’?

A search is underway for a young Florida mother, Michelle Parker, who disappeared the same day her case aired on ‘The People’s Court’ TV show. She and her ex-fiance appeared on the program for a dispute over a $5,000 engagement ring. Parker has not been seen since last Thursday.

Prosecutor Anna Sigga Nicolazzi and Criminal Defense Attorney Tamara Holder joined Bill Hemmer on America’s Newsroom to discuss what could have happened. Parker’s mother says her daughter was humiliated by the appearance on the show, but Nicolazzi says it’s unlikely that she would have just taken off.

Chicago’s decriminalization of marijuana proposal will still affect your criminal record

Earlier this week, Alderman Danny Solis (25th) with co-sponsor Alderman Joe Moreno (1st) introduced local legislation to Chicago’s City Council that makes possession of small amounts of marijuana an ordinance violation. The idea is that any person caught by the Chicago Police with less than 10 grams of marijuana will not be arrested for misdemeanor possession; instead the person will simply be ticketed with a $200.00 fine.

The Aldermen’s motive is not necessarily to decriminalize the possession of pot; instead, it is to allow the City to make money without requiring police and court time to prosecute the crime. Solis told the AP, “In these trying times of the economy, we could really use the revenue generated by fines versus arrests…and each (arrest) means police officers are spending an inordinate amount of time outside the neighborhoods, inside the district offices doing paperwork.”

Occupy Wall Street protesters are not unemployed losers but lack a common theme

Occupy Wall Street protesters have been portrayed by the right as crazy, far-lefties with no civil disobedience.

Today I was on Hannity Radio with Jay Sekulow (The American Center for Law & Justice). Sean opened the segment with snippets of wacky remarks by a few protesters. One said something about a “dirty tea-bagger” and another said something about all of the bankers being “Zionist Jews that need to be sent back.” It is these stupid comments by stupid people who ruin the greater message.
