Tamara Holder’s FOX News Op-Ed: Why jury selection for the Zimmerman trial is a lot like the NFL draft

Jury selection is much like an NFL draft. A team’s decision on whether to pick a player revolves around his skill, his personality, and whether he can help the team win. But there are no guarantees. A team may think it scored the best player of the draft, only to learn the player is a bust. (Ryan Leaf is a name that comes to mind.)

Don’t be scared…rock neon

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how I changed out of my cute, neon orange short-shorts before dinner because my friend said I looked like a lifeguard. (He actually just backtracked and said the shorts are “very, very sharp looking but not Madison Avenue restaurant wear.” Blah, blah.) Then last week, another friend of mine told me to leave my neon yellow hoodie in his car because I looked like an IDOT (Illinois Dept. of Transportation) worker. Look at how cute it is with the orange string and the darker yellow stripes on the arm! It looks nothing like a state-issued uniform!

Tamara’s Tastes: Plaid is Rad

Like many women, I’m an expert in all things.

I recently decided to share another side of my life because what I say on TV doesn’t portray my entire personality. I’m not just a crazy liberal lawyer…I’m crazy for many other reasons too. I hope that my new blogs will shed some light into other aspects of my life. (See below for the first few posts.)

Astroglide & marriage – mutual exclusivity

I’m a walking disaster. Each day, something happens to me that I swear doesn’t happen to other people. Not sure if it’s because I’m deserving of such embarrassment or if it’s because I’m just a hot mess. Let’s start with this very moment: Is there a reason why the guy behind me has been standing at the fax machine for 45 minutes, pressing a button that makes a beeping noise?  The thing is broken. Go to Kinkos, bro.

A pet tarantula and an NFL role-player

WHY ARE MY SISTER & I SO NUTS? WE BLAME OUR PARENTS. BOTH OF THEM.

**********

I was born in Rocky Ford Colorado, and raised about 10 miles away in La Junta, Colorado. My dad’s family was in the onion and melon business.

My parents moved to Rocky Ford before my birth in an effort to bring back one of the companies from bankruptcy.  As a kid, My grandfather “Papa” used to make me drive up and down the fields with him, with the windows down, dust flying in my mouth, as he surveyed his crops. He always got out of the car and spoke to the migrant workers. Everyone loved him.

President’s policy on drone strikes against Americans demands transparency, not secrecy

Fellow Americans, can the government take away your citizenship?

Or can you voluntarily alienate your American citizenship?

Good news, the doctor confirmed my suspicions: I am “bat shit crazy”

My first weekend with my new concept for “The Holder Position” and I have nothing very juicy to report. No hot dates…no steamy make-out sessions…just a few embarrassing & uncomfortable moments…

Meet the “bolder T-Holder”

I can’t believe it: I moved to NYC almost a year ago, right after Memorial Day 2012. This place is one-of-a-kind. To be honest, I’m not sure if I like it, love it, or hate it. Hate is a strong word. My Papa (my father’s father who was my best friend and the only man who never let me down; he passed away 8/8/08) always said, “You don’t ‘hate’ tomatoes, you just haven’t learned to like them.” In his memory, I try not to use the H word.

Tamara Holder’s Op-Ed: “Abortion doctor guilty verdict hardly a victory” – Published on FoxNews.com

Published on FoxNews.com – May 13, 2013, by Tamara Holder

The Kermitt Gosnell verdict is hardly a victory. Out of 7 charges of first degree murder to unborn babies, Gosnell was only found guilty of three. Of one charge of third degree murder to an abortion patient, Gosnell was found guilty of a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter. A 38 percent (3/8) is a failing grade…continue reading at: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/05/13/abortion-doctor-guilty-verdict-hardly-victory/#ixzz2TmtnOXg0
