Good news, the doctor confirmed my suspicions: I am “bat shit crazy”

My first weekend with my new concept for “The Holder Position” and I have nothing very juicy to report. No hot dates…no steamy make-out sessions…just a few embarrassing & uncomfortable moments…

The NEW “Holder Position”

I can’t believe it: I moved to NYC almost a year ago, right after Memorial Day 2012. This place is one-of-a-kind. To be honest, I’m not sure if I like it, love it, or hate it. Hate is a strong word. My Papa (my father’s father who was my best friend and the only man who never let me down; he passed away 8/8/08) always said, “You don’t ‘hate’ tomatoes, you just haven’t learned to like them.” In his memory, I try not to use the H word.

Tamara Holder’s foxnews.com Op-Ed: “Abortion doctor guilty verdict hardly a victory”

Published May 13, 2013, by Tamara Holder

The Kermitt Gosnell verdict is hardly a victory. Out of 7 charges of first degree murder to unborn babies, Gosnell was only found guilty of three. Of one charge of third degree murder to an abortion patient, Gosnell was found guilty of a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter. A 38 percent (3/8) is a failing grade…continue reading at: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/05/13/abortion-doctor-guilty-verdict-hardly-victory/#ixzz2TmtnOXg0

Sticking with his Easter tradition, Governor Quinn grants pardons for many, including our clients

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn likes to grant clemency petitions (aka pardons) during the holidays. Sticking with his holiday tradition, on Good Friday, Governor Quinn granted 87 pardons to those convicted of crimes in the State of Illinois. (He also denied 135 petitions.)

Preview of Supreme Court: Proposition 8 proponents made federal judge’s decision easy

I wrote the following article on August 5, 2010. Two and a half years later, the Supreme Court of the United States will finally hear oral arguments tomorrow. I wanted to re-post this piece as a background on the federal court’s ruling that struck down Proposition 8 – a law made by the voters of California to amend the state’s constitution that same-sex marriage is illegal.

CPAC: The convention of pipe dreamers & crypt keepers

Call CPAC’s speakers whatever you want: Republicans, conservatives, the GOP, Tea Partiers…at the end of the day, they’re all the same: disturbed, irrational, unglued. They’re mad at Obama, Democrats, liberals, and even each other. They’re now just lifeless bodies spinning ’round and ’round on the hamster wheel, dead from the same hallucinogenic overdoes that killed their predecessors.

Obama & governors’ deluded fear of granting clemency and pardons

From the time I graduated from law school, I have focused my practice on pardons (and criminal defense) – creating a case for the governor to show that my client – once a criminal – is now a law-abiding, contributing member of society. I have written over 100 petitions. Through my help, my clients have received pardons and been released from prison.
